Not from Ford Escape Panorama Roof

Spring is coming with more sunny days. Unfortunately, my new Ford Escape 2014 will be sent to DAMS repair shop again for power lift-gate repair, the defect came with the first day on Feb 18 and had been repaired a couple of times. Although I bought my Escape with panorama roof, but have few chance to enjoy sunshine, have to drive service loaner without a sun roof.

I took this picture with my tablet at south west Vancouver.

Ford, I Understood ...

I bought a new Ford Escape 2014 on Feb 18, 2014. Only after one week on Feb 27, the fuel inject system problem almost made an accident on highway. The engine lost power and had constant vibrations; meanwhile, gas was smelt full into the vehicle.

I understood it is an unusual problem for a brand new Ford Escape 2014. However, I cannot imagine the consequence if crash happens due to engine power lose or fire triggered due to broken fuel injection system.

I understood this issue may be only small number of percentage in all Ford Escape 2014 vehicles. However, it is 100% disaster for a family whenever it happens. Not only that, it could also be a disaster for other drivers or pedestrians. They all have their family as well.

I understood what the meaning of unusual is, but I am really curious that two unusual problems coexist on one brand new vehicle: one is fuel injection system issue, another one is power tailgate issue.

I understood it is not fair to expect Ford Escape to be perfect because it has history of several recalls in 2013. I can tolerant the problem of tailgate as long as it is not opened during driving, but I absolutely not tolerant the issue of SAFETY and RELIABILITY.

I also understood as a father and husband, I have to consider the safety of my family when I give them rides. As a driver, I must be responsible for other people’s safety when I am operating a vehicle.

History Review of My New Ford Escape 2014

Who Should I Believe, Ford or DAMS?

For a brand new Ford Escape 2014 with tailgate defect, which has not been fixed since the first day on Feb 18/2014. Here is the one of the questions I am really confused about. (The others will be continued)
The salesman at DAMS Ford Lincoln Sales told me that needed to program tailgate in order to get proper functionality. From my understanding, the dealer has to program the vehicle to meet the customer requirement. However, the power tailgate is one of the features listed in the vehicle window sticker before I purchased it.
Which one I should believe?

Is the Strategy Ford used for Customer Service?

Since I picked up my brand new Ford Escape 2014 on Feb 18, 2014,
- 8 days for replacing fuel injection system.
- 14 days for tailgate harness order
- 50 days waiting for tailgate repair so far, I am still waiting…
However, this Ford Survey expired in 1 week after I received mail on Mar 31. Is the strategy Ford used to save their time to get faster customer service?

Serious Defect of Ford Escape 2014

I bought a brand new Ford Escape 2014 on Feb 18th 2014. On Feb 27th, only one week after I picked up, the fuel injection system failure almost made an accident on highway! I even do not want to imagine what the consequence is if there were more traffic or fire happened in vehicle.

When I drove this one-week new Ford Escape 2014 on Highway 1 to Cypress, while my son and my wife were enjoying the new ride and beautify weather. Suddenly, the engine lost power and had constant serious vibrations; meanwhile, we smelt gas full into the vehicle.  Then I pulled over to the nearest exit and called Ford roadside assistance to tow the Escape to your repair shop. The next day, the fault parts, which caused this serious issue, were found in fuel inject system.

While waiting for the tow truck, the fuel came out of exhaust made a pool on the road. After towed to the dealer repair shop, the engine was not able to start.

I was told this is an unusual problem on new Ford Escape 2014. I may not luck for this serious fuel injection system defect. However, there is also another UNUSUAL problem came with this new Ford Escape 2014, and so far has not been fixed.

In the following posts, I will disclose more issues and mystery history of this new Ford Escape 2014.

Marathon Run for Ford Escape Repair

Seems Ford does not know to fix this issue on my new Ford Escape 2014.

Feb 18/2014 when I picked up my brand new vehicle, I was told that the tailgate just need to be reprogrammed to get proper functionality.

Feb 25/2014 sent vehicle to dealer for tailgate reprogramming, did not resolve the issue by reprogramming, found a faulty harness need to be replaced, it takes about 14 days to order it and ship to the dealer repair shop.

March 15/2014 second time sent vehicle to dealer for tailgate repair, still not resolve the issue by replacing the harness. The dealer service needs to contact Ford engineer to get more information about how to repair it.

Today, one month and 10 days after, I am still waiting without further update regarding to this repair.
This is a defect comes along with the brand new Ford Escape 2014, I am not sure how long it will take to fix this issue, but I am willing to take this Repair Marathon Run with Ford.

A couple of years ago, I completed 8Km Marathon Run in 46 minutes 25 seconds and got this medal. Now I am going to take months or even years to run Repair Marathon to get the tailgate repaired so it can work properly!

I know it is a new challenge for me. However, I am ready to take this challenge! Ford, are you ready?
Let’s see if can make a new record.
